ABOUT D.63
Directive 63 Inc. is a corporation based in Virginia which serves federal and state governments, law enforcement, and the professional community. D.63 specializes in Information Assurance and Digital Forensics, and through Directive 63 Investigative Section, LLC, provides professional investigation services to support D.63 case work.
The lineage of D.63 goes as far back as 1996. Co-founder and CEO Thomas Baer began providing D.63 related services as a self-employed contractor to support the services of an information technology firm he co-founded, Indego/CTC; which provided Information Security training and consulting. After Indego/CTC changed ownership, Mr. Baer focused his efforts into the Directive 63 business model.
In 2001 the D.63 team was called upon to provide expertise and support to the federal government in securing, testing, and cerfifying major IT systems. This assignment led D.63 into the realm of digital forensics, where the team was responsible for providing architecture, engineering, and technical services support to the deployment of an unprecedented digital forensics and evidence storage system.
Incorporated in 2004, Directive 63 has maintained a low-key image working with a select choice of government clients. In 2007 D.63 opened the Digital Information & Computer Evidence laboratory, called DICE, in the National Capital Region. Servicing state and local law enforcement on the east coast, DICE can support locales in the US. The DICE laboratory was opened to a select few civilian organizations which needed support consistent with the D.63 Strategic Mission, and the Priorities set forth by the command. DICE is now offered to organizations who need expertise on a continual basis.
In 2008 D.63 established the Directive 63 Investigative Section. The wholly owned subsidiary provides Professional Investigation support to supplement digital investigations completed by the DICE Team. DIS participation provides clients with a FULL SCOPE view of their case, to flesh out digital case findings. Using all intelligence gathered via original source, DICE digital investigations, and DIS real world intelligence gathering, D.63 provides a complete picture in one symbiotic solution.
Citizen. Community. Nation. Directive 63 is answering the call.
D.63 COMMAND CREST
The D.63 Seal was designed to visually represent our organizations mission, goals, and principles, as well as invoke images of our Nation's spirit. Set against the backdrop of the United States flag, the eagle -- a national symbol of freedom, spirit, and pursuit of excellence -- in full fighter stance. His out stretched claws represent the mission of our organization to help defend, protect, and pursue criminals that harm our nation.
The colors Black and White were chosen to symbolize D.63's role in the fight against crime and the criminals who violate our citizens. In justice there should be no gray area, only black and white. There should be no maybe, only innocence and guilt. There is right and there is wrong, our seal represents the freedoms we posses to search for that difference.
D.63 MOTTO
"Citizen. Community. Nation. Answering the Call." -- The D.63 Corporate slogan symbolizing our commitment to represent ALL of America's brightest. From the individuals that make up our communities, to the communities that make up our nation. In the form of people, businesses, or government we are here to serve American's for the greater good.
"Strength Through Loyalty" -- The D.63 Team battle-cry represents our belief that each ship is only as strong as its weakest bolt.
